Japanese Food

Post by Flamebo »

Wow!
I tried Japanese/Sushi last weekend! Now, people that know me probably thought I would NEVER try it, and neither did I....

but a good friend of mine (Kenny) likes the stuff, and I couldnt puss out when he asked me if I would try some.

I started with an open mind and even ate the little salad at the beggining.
Next I tried Tuna Sushi (its was OK, my first raw fish)
Then Albacore Tuna Sushi (this was really good!)
Next I decided to be ballsy and tried the octopus (it didn't have a lot of flavor)
Now I was feeling really ballsy so I went with the Fresh water eel (ITS FRIKIN GOOD!!@#)
Then Salt water Eel (Frikin good too!)
I did one of thoughs wrap thingys, and finished with Red-tail snapper (the snapper was nasty, but I dont like salmon so...)

Overall I was cool.

Today I went again for lunch, and just got my new favorite food!

Unagi (fresh water eel)
And a Dragon Roll (its got Eel, Crab, Rice, Avacado, and seeweed)
The chef gave me a sample of YellowTail to try to (That was really good!)

Finished up with an Orange with plum wine for dessert.

I really love the taste, but I'm still struglling with the textures and the mixture of Hot and Cold slimy stuff in my mouth....but overall I recommend anyone whos got the balls to try it to....well try it!

If anyone else is into Jap food, post and tell me what your favorite is, and give some recommendations..

Dude, California rolls own. I think I'm gonna cop some for lunch now thanks.

After that it's always good to wash it down with strawberry Mochi.

Hey finally got off my butt and tried a few different types of sushi. Coming from a guy that doesn't like sea food this is impressive. Kathy and I hit up Sato's the other day and tried a few things. I can definitely support go for the Eel and the Calamari is pretty good too. California rolls rock! Dragon rolls are definitely good also. I gotta agree with (Bob or Nibbles) though textures are a little wierd. Overall though I enjoyed it compared to how much I hate fish and most sea food. Don't expect me to make it a usual on my menu though.
Being driven slowly insane... One moment at a time.
