Ok, so it's still really, really early in the year, and there are still like, 2003 CD's to be released in the next 10 months, but I figure we can make this a year long post, a running tally of the CD's that we all get and love. So if you buy a CD that you love that is released this year, 2004, let's hear it.

So far this year, here are the new CD's that I own and love:

That's it. One good CD in two months. Or as my boy JB would say "I don't like it. So far, so far off to a bad start..."

But there are still 10 months to go. Let's hope for as good a year as the last.

(I know it only just dropped in new zealand, but the guys are all really nice and I have the demo [burned by Tyson, singer] and have heard the greater majority of their stuff live.)

saw these boys live back in Nov.--[been waiting for the album ever since ^__^]-- and I have to admit I saw this coming...check 'em out now before I hafta say "I told you so..."
I personally own their demo CD (from the band themselves), a burned version of Schmack! before we could get it in the US, and now I own Schmack! I'm gonna see 'em at warped tour, too! WHHEEE!

Dialated Peoples. Neighbor Hoodwatch

I picked it up yesterday, put in on blast all day. Probably one of the bets Hip Hop CD's this year so far. DJ Babu is sick wid it.

Since having hit 400 cd's, i've cooled off my cd purchasing madness recently. But I did pick up two damn good albums recently:

The Good Life - Album Of The Year - good mix of acoustic melodies, kind of a Weezer-meets-Dashboard feel to it. Mellow tunes about love, loss, and everything else that depressed musicians write about

Velvet Revolver - Contraband - much like Audioslave, this is a band formed from the best parts of two other great bands, this time the bands being Stone Temple Pilots and Guns 'N Roses. Weilend's vocals rock, Slash's riffs roll, and the first two singles, Slither and Fall To Pieces, are following in the same tracks as Audioslave - rocking first single, melodic follow-up.

Other than that, nothing new to speak of. I've finally gotten to a point in my musical collection where I have a little bit of everything. I've started purchasing some greatest hits cd's from 60's and 70's artists like Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, and the Forrest Gump soundtrack, trying to round off my collection. Music is life.

As far as good cd's go, I just picked up a CD by a new artist called Jem. That's right, Jem. No, not like the 80's cartoon about a girl with pink hair who sang crappy pop songs. The CD is called "Finally Woken."

Jem is an artist similar to Dido. In fact, if you like Dido, Jem sounds just like her, just with electric guitars instead of acoustics. A little harder, more club based.

The two stand out tracks are "They" and "24" but I enjoy the whole album.
